It’s possible you missed the news about Pierre Poilievre’s use of the #MGTOW hashtag on his YouTube channel or perhaps you’re not sure what all the fuss about it is for, so Samanta Krishnapillai from OnCanada Project joins me to discuss why women across Canada, no matter where they sit on the political spectrum, should be concerned about it.

This week, we saw unions across the country unite in a show of solidarity not seen in years, to push back against the Ontario provincial government’s legislation that aimed to take away the bargaining rights of CUPE, but also would have set a precedent for all workers if they got away with it. Laura Walton, President of CUPE OSBCU joins me to discuss how they got the government back to the bargaining table.

Dr. Patricia Wu joins me to chat about the benefits of mushrooms on everything from brain health to immunity support as part of our ongoing series with New Roots Herbal aimed to educate consumers on the benefits of supplements.

Anne Brodie is here and this week we’ve got a bit of a British focus with a look at Season 5 of The Crown on Netflix, The English available on Prime Video, which stars the uber talented Emily Blunt who also produced the series, and a series on etiquette on Netflix called Mind Your Manners which hopefully will help return some civility to our society. Finally and most important to me, is the release of two new Christmas movies coming up this season!

The Rooftop Garden, is a new novel from the host of The Globe and Mail’s The Decibel podcast, Menaka Raman-Wilms, which explores timely themes including climate anxiety and the political radicalization of young men. She joins me to her why for penning her first novel.

Finally, Anne had the honour of sitting in on a group interview with the Cast of Season 5 on the Crown which includes Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth, Jonathon Pryce at Prince Philip, and Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana to name a few of the top talent in this season. We’ll listen in to a bit of that at the end of today’s show.
