Dr. Fred is joined on the show today by friend and fellow psychiatrist, Dr. Brandon Erdos. Professionally, Dr. Erdos helps clients build concrete skills to move beyond traumatic experiences and difficult emotions and restore feelings of normalcy in daily life. His approach is based in psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Today's episode, however, has little to do with psychiatry, and instead, explores common areas of interest between two friends, including personal development, cultivating the art of listening, the captive power of rhythm, and more.

On today's show, you'll hear Dr. Fred and Dr. Erdos discuss:

Why Dr. Erdos refers to himself as a "smart rat"

The distinction between predicting and creating the future

How improvisation within a structure applies to both music and life

Enjoying the journey

Why listening can be "dangerous"

Learning to listen to one's listening

The intersection of listening and drumming

Why being willing to be "bad" at something is "good"

Being willing to play

The primal nature of drumming
