Where does an AI learn compassion? Google’s Assistant (AI) learned to be more conversational by reading 2,865 romance novels. In 2016, Google was working on "educating" their AI by feeding it text taken from steamy romance novels with titles like "Unconditional Love," "Fatal Desire," and "Jacked Up." Apparently it helped because Google Assistant is far more human sounding and conversational than serious Siri. You can hear this daily briefing on Google Assistant devices, including Google smart speakers or the Google Assistant iPhone app, by saying, "Hey Google, play Voice Marketing with Emily Binder."
