I can see clearly now the rain is gone

I can see all obstacles in my way

Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind

It's gonna be a bright, bright sun shiny day

In Utah, during the winter we deal with inversions. The sky is clouded and the pollution is trapped. You can't see very far, let alone breathe clearly. Until......there is a storm. That storm, although it may not be pleasant (especially if you are driving in it), is what clears all the muck. Then everything changes and you can see clearly across the valley.

In our own lives, it is often the storms that clean out the areas where we can't see clearly. We come away with a new perspective and understanding.

Do you see yourself clearly? Are you living in your true identity? Michelangelo is often quoted as saying that inside every block of stone or marble dwells a beautiful statue – one need only remove the excess material to reveal the work of art.

You can’t see the masterpiece until you remove all the things in the way. What false ideas, beliefs, doubts, or fears do you need to remove to see yourself clearly? One of my favorite quotes by CS Lewis is “It is a serious thing to live in a society of possible Gods and Goddesses, to remember that the dullest and most uninteresting person you talk to may one day be a creature which…you would strongly be tempted to worship. There are no ordinary people."

In 2024, I invite you to see yourself clearly and step into your true identity. See those storms as stepping stones to clear the way. “Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.” CS Lewis
