083 Putting your thoughts on trial! | Tips to control how you feel

Everybody feels stuck at some point in their life which can lead to pesky irrational thoughts such as feeling pants! We all suffer setbacks from time to time but these thoughts can lead to, anxiety, lethargy and even depression! So how can you get unstuck and control how you feel? You need a set of tools and tips to control how you feel and get you thinking a little more clearly the next time you are stuck.

Irrational thoughts that influence your emotions is referenced as cognitive distortions. Think of them as biased ways of thinking about yourself or the world around you, but the key thing here is everyone experiences cognitive distortions to a small degree and by putting your thoughts on trial, you can control how you feel and think a little more clearly.

In this episode, I share with you an exercise from my studies of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) called putting your thoughts on trial. A great way to gather evidence for & against those irrational thoughts and judge whether the thought is actually true or not!
