Dam Worth It is a campaign at Oregon State University that serves as a call to student athletes to take care of their mental health because they are worth it. Nathan Braaten and Taylor Ricci started Dam Worth It after connecting in times of darkness. They created meaning out of personal tragedy by starting a platform that helps others. The pillars of the campaign are Education, Resources, and Awareness/Comfort, connecting student athletes to encourage conversations around mental health. Nathan and Taylor continue to help run Dam Worth It, supporting the OSU students currently on the Dam Worth It team, consulting with other student athletes at other universities on how to begin a similar campaign on their campuses, and co-hosting the upcoming Str3ngth In Stories conference with D1on1 and the Hilinski’s Hope Foundation. From the Dam Worth It games to helping student athletes share their stories, Nathan and Taylor continue to impact others across the country.
