What is it like to be a professional dancer with Walt Disney? What does the audition and training process look like for Broadway shows and tours?

I’m joined by Nika Lindsay, a professional dancer and performer who has worked multiple jobs for the Walt Disney Company, including being a part of the first Frozen North American Tour. Nika tells me about moving to New York without ever visiting to attend college at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, and how she landed her first job working on a Disney cruise for 7 months without ever even taking a cruise beforehand. We talk about moving past rejection when auditions don’t pan out, how she landed a job with the Disney Company touring in the states, and what she has been up to since the pandemic forced Disney to cancel the tour in March of 2020. This is a good one, so stay tuned.

If you have a story to tell—no matter how small—email me at [email protected] or reach out on Instagram, @uniquestorybroadnarrative. If you are hesitant to share your story, unsure if your perspective is valuable, or if the tabloids and headlines don’t match up with real life, I’d love to hear from you to broaden the conversations we are having.
