At the time of this recording, I had recently found out that one of my old friends had passed away. For the most part, we had lost touch with each other besides the occasional “Happy birthday” or quick, “How is life?” message sent here and there.

Seeing that he wasn’t here anymore just shocked me. We are in our early thirties. It’s too soon for this...

I stayed up thinking about old memories and how fragile life was. You know it’s sad that something like this has to happen for us to stop and really think about how much people mean to us.

I shared a memory with my husband that night. The thing that stood out most to me about Chris was that he always just let me be myself. I’ve always been a strange girl, not fitting into most crowds. I'm super quirky, ambitious, and passionate. Especially in my early 20s I was hyper-aware of how different I was and it made me VERY insecure.

Chris would always say to me “Sis, just do you, it doesn't matter. Be Heather”.

I told my husband how much that meant to me because there are not a lot of people in life where you can FULLY be yourself and feel completely free around. Chris was that kind of friend.

I don’t think I ever thanked him for that. It made me think about all the other friends I have in my life that I haven’t taken the time to reach out, thank, and make more of an effort to be in their lives.

Over the weekend I talked with friends, family, and even complete strangers and asked them, a question, what is something that a friend has done or said that has greatly impacted you? Maybe something that you may have taken for granted?

This is what they said...
