In today's episode, DR. RHOBERTA SHALER talks about 'Clearing Your Head When Chronic Stress and Anxiety Have Clouded Your Thinking.'

Much research has been done that shows the effects of chronic stress coupled with chronic anxiety. When you're in a troubling or toxic relationship, you have that combination of stress and anxiety. It has been shown to lead to chronic illness, and seems very likely to produce inflammation and autoimmune issues, particularly. Of course, each body is different, and each will react differently as well.

Your brain changes with chronic stress and anxiety. Your hippocampus in your brain shrinks, causing fuzzy thinking and reduced ability to remember things well. Your amygdala enlarges and you become more prone to fear-based anxiety. The amygdala triggers the sympathetic nervous system, and your body goes on the alert. Living like that--hyper-vigilant--is very hard on the body.

Today, Dr. Shaler talks about what goes on in your brain when you're living with the chronic stress and anxiety of toxic people. YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS!
