In today's episode, Lauren talks about going back to her hometown and revisiting the very spot she first had sex in at 14  years old. She discusses the concept of virginity and why it's not only outdated but also damaging and even dangerous. The definitions and implications of "virginity" have varied over the centuries, but they almost always primarily pertain to women. But it's not just women who are negatively affected by this. In this episode, Lauren shares her story and talks about ways that we, as a society, can shift the ways we teach young people about sex, and deciding to have sex for the first time, in order to normalize healthy conversations that empower instead of inciting shame and guilt.
