In the intro, Michele (@michelebacicomedy) catches up with Kelly Mohen (@kellendria21) about why Kelly’s feeling optimistic lately. They discuss Thanksgiving plans and Kelly’s recent exposure to a friend diagnosed with COVID. Michele discusses her existential dread about turning 30. Kelly gushes about feminism in the TV show, The Queen’s Gambit.

Today’s guest is Michelle Han (@mintymich), a Self Care Coach who specializes in working with Women of Color creatives and artists. Michelle has her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. She encourages journaling, writing affirmations, and allowing yourself time to play. She talks about running an educational event about anti-blackness in communities and how to confront bigoted views.

The ladies discuss the importance of animals and having pets, especially when living in isolation. Michelle values how her therapist picks up on body language cues. ALSO, Michele Baci tells us why it’s not a great idea to have your first ever video session with a therapist situated behind a dumpster.

Michelle talks about how her experience as a WOC artist has led her to a career where she can help others with similar experiences. She speaks about why she was motivated to enter the field of psychology, seeing that it was dominated by white women and wanting to enter the field as a Korean woman. She also tells us what it’s like to seek out therapy as a child of immigrant parents, why she’s grateful for the internet, and what to expect from the new moon in Scorpio.
