Many people underestimate the importance of sleep in their lives. They have been lulled into thinking that sleep can be delayed and deferred. It can't. At least not if you wish to be well and operate at your optimal level. Our bodies are designed to sleep a certain number of hours each night. While it is true that each one of us has a set point where we need sleep that may differ from other people, the fact is that on average, adults need 6 1/2 to 8 hours of sleep every night.
