Could you imagine not having control over the thermostat in your home?

That’s exactly what happened with Colorado residents in the midst of a heatwave in the summer of 2022.

I don’t know about you but I’ve stayed in a BNB once where the owner had a lock on the thermostat and I wasn’t able to adjust the sweaty 80-degree temperature inside. It was miserable and certainly worth docking a star for when I reviewed them.

In Southern California, residents are told when they can water their lawns and some are forbidden from washing their own vehicles.
