The New England Virtual Health Network (NEViHN) was an emerging idea from the University of New England that was spurred into action at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. The need for remotely delivered medical services has always been an issue for remote and regional towns, now the world has been faced with the need for such services and it is projects like NEViHN that are addressing that need. Leanne Nisbet is the project manager of NEViHN and is simultaneously conducting research into the effective implementation of virtual health programs using NEViHN as a case study. While it is currently in development stage NEViHN is finding new ways of working with patients, medical practitioners, students and community members to change the way we practice 21st century healthcare.
