Q & A call-in discussion with a survivor professional, using an OPEN MIKE forum. We'll feature a survivor-professional co-host who'll field topics brought to the episode by you, the listener. ~~ Tonight the special co-host is Jodie Tedder from Montana, the President of 'IOI, Inc., The Island of Immunity'. Jodie says. "It's a safe and nurturing community of healing for survivors of childhood sexual abuse and other forms of trauma." The words on her BLOG are certainly revealing. "It's not just all self-love like we keep hearing, 'Love yourself before anyone else!' I actually think it's the opposite: you can't really love yourself until you love other people." Jodie goes on, "When I lived at home with my father, I was favored. His favor included being backhanded when I showed the slightest sign of disobedience, rape, sodomy, and playing the game Risk." She's outspoken, too. "We don't seem to talk of or hear much about adults who are complicit in sexual abuse (and other forms of abuse as well) – including parents." ~~ On these episodes we welcome various co-hosts, and survivor-professionals who'll assist in fielding questions and lead a variety of topics suggested by our call-in participants. Their trauma-informed perspectives as survivor-professionals will help them guide discussions on the issues of child abuse, trauma, and healthy human sexuality that spring from questions and topics brought to us by our listeners. ~~ Everyone's invited to engage in tonight's show. ~~ Please visit the NAASCA.org website.
