Q & A call-in discussion with a survivor-professional, using an OPEN MIKE forum. We'll feature a survivor-professional co-host who'll field topics brought to the episode by you, the listener. ~~ Tonight the special co-host will be Felicia Dawn Parr. "I suffered much abuse, neglect, and felt extreme fear when my mom and dad fought," she says. "After my mom and dad divorced, I was molested by my uncle; starting at the age of 5. My dad remarried a woman who abused me mentally, verbally, and physically. She began telling me 'no one wants you'. She goes on, "I ran away several times, and eventually became a child of the streets. I became anorexic, when I connected with a childhood friend who abused me and kidnapped me several times after leaving him. I went into a women's shelter." She explains, "I made amends with my father and recently married a Christian man. After searching, I found the right therapist for me. He sees me for Complex PTSD, insomnia and co-dependency. I am an advocate for those who are in recovery. I believe unconditional love conquers all hurt. I always try to be the person I needed." ~~ On these episodes we welcome various co-hosts, survivor-professionals who'll assist in fielding questions and lead a variety of topics suggested by our call-in participants. Their trauma-informed perspectives as survivor-professionals will help them guide discussions on the issues of child abuse, trauma and healthy human sexuality that spring from questions and topics brought to us by our listeners. ~~ Everyone's invited to engage on tonight's show. ~~ Please visit the NAASCA.org web site.
