The War in Ukraine - Part 2

Dustin Washington and Martin Friedman return this week to continue discussing the war in Ukraine. Last week you heard from both of the men as they talked about the egos that have been developed by people in leadership positions, and the disconnect war has on humanity. In this new episode the two of them begin by discussing their thoughts on the fear that comes from war. Dustin remembers participating in nuclear war drills in elementary, and he remembers the fear he had at such a young age. He goes on to explain that the fear he experienced as a kid stayed with him all the way into adulthood. Martin agrees with Dustin and goes on to explain that we can also get generational fear passed down to us by our families. The wars that our parents and grandparents lived through do get passed down, and it can result in us carrying their fear as our own. We as a society don’t realize how much fear seeps into our ground water which can effect our lives as adults.

The second half of this podcast is about the advancements we must make as a society to successfully grow out of fear. Both Dustin and Martin share their thoughts on the production of deadly weapons, and the money behind the technology to create those weapons. We often talk about how far we have advanced in technology, but we never stop a think about what our technology could be doing to others. The world has been disconnected from each other for a while, and you can see it more as wars begin to happen. Martin shares his experience with learning to love everyone, and how hard of a concept it can be for society to grasp. He explains that by having an us against them mentality we create a war in ourselves. We can all move out of fear once we learn to love everyone.
