When you're born without a sister, you're led to believe that it's not possible to have one.
In my 40s I was delighted to discover that I had sisters, lots of them.
I didn't have to contend with sibling rivalry, or DNA tests or family trees.
I learned about a new way of relating with women that is different from friendship. It's a sistership.
In this episode, I explore what it means to be a friend and a sister with Jennifer Karlich, one of my sisters, and an extraordinary, alive woman who is living her best life.
Together we discuss:
What is a sister and what is a friend
Where you can find sisters
The qualities of a sister that are different to that of a typical female friend
How HERstory helps us to understand why we are where we are
Marion Rose's Inner Loving Presence process
The external focus of the friendship model
People pleasing
How knowing yourself leads to deeper connections with others
Three key ingredients you need to find your sisters
What to do when friendships change and you no longer feel aligned.
The turn on that’s available when you connect with sisters.
