Have you ever gone after something, achieved a goal or fulfilled a dream only to have it not turn out as you thought it would?

We usually tell ourselves if we get the job, get a certain type of client or if you learned how to lead or sell like John or Jane, then did we’d be happier, more successful and feel fulfilled.

But when we finally get there, the bill of goods we bought into was not all that it what cracked up to be.

Some people will settle and say, it’s just the way it is.

Others will blame themselves thinking something must be wrong with them to not love this life or business they strived all these years to create.

And some people will take a good hard look at themselves, their business and their life and go for a do-over.

My guest today Tara McMullin is a trusted small business strategist and the founder of What Works. She’s also the host of the What Works podcast and co-founder of YellowHouse.Media, a podcast production agency & consultancy. Her work has been featured in Fast Company, Inc, Forbes, CreativeLive, and Copyblogger.

Current models of success aren’t made for everyone. You’re not someone who can be stuffed to fit into a box or certain type of model.  You are a multi-faceted leader and professional.  So how do you bring all of you to your work and business, without forcing yourself into a one-dimensional version of what you think you need to be projecting out into the world to be successful.

Well check this episode out to learn more as Tara McMullin shares her experience on starting over and building a business around who you are, not who you think you should be.
