Greetings, Summit Leaders.

What is your dream? Dreams are our ability to envision something and experience the outcomes. They are gifts available to all.

Wherever we are on our life and career journeys, we are encouraged to dream, have a purpose and vision for our lives, and why created.

We learn insights for living by observing and reflecting on lives and the impact of great leaders.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s life manifests five vital qualities every great leader needs.

Many know about his life's purpose, vision, service, courage, and faith.

We see several qualities that may help us do even greater works in our life and career journey.

Faith:  Faith is seeing the invisible, believing what seems impossible, and taking action. What step of faith should I make to realize your purpose and vision is the question I ask myself?

"Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Are you starting a new career, assignment, working with new clients? Have faith!

Purpose: Dr. King discovered his purpose by serving others, and so can we in our life and career journey. What an empowering discovery when we find our purpose.

"The two most important days in your life are the day you are born, and the day you find out why." Mark Twain

Vision: What's your dream? It will keep you producing all the days of your life and help you make the best choices on your life and career journey.

"Without vision, people lack discipline." "Without vision, people perish."

"Dream to persist and persist in dreaming."

This day, take time to reflect on your vision, attributes, and actions.

Are they aligned? Think your vision through. Could you write it down? Speak it out!

Service:   Summit Leaders share a passion for serving. Wholeheartedly serving is a distinctive quality for greatness.

"Everybody can be great because everybody can serve." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

We reap what we sow, more than and later than we sow. Keep serving your family, company, clients, colleagues, and community.

Courage:  Taking the first step will often require courage. The power of the dream, faith, vision, purpose combines to provide the "on-time" resources we need to fulfill the dream. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.

"If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on in spite of it all. And so today, I still have a dream." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

What actions can we take to overcome fear and walk in victory?

Recognize your fear.
Challenge it. “The focus of faith frees us from fear."
Encourage yourself with self-talk and rehearse the truth of your identity.
Embrace being comfortable with being uncomfortable. We are in a battle for our minds.
Make the focus of faith and being brave a habit.
Guard your thoughts and mind and practice mindfulness.
Seek a mentor for life and career.

Let’s get started today!

Victory!
