You Know It is Right When It Feels Right

Renee-France LeBlanc was my guest May 28, 2019. She is the Creative Director and owner of Greenlight Design. Renee-France and I were joined by her dog Ziggy in her home. There is a story to Ziggy and how she arrived in Renee-France’s life. Intuitively lead and meant to be I would say. Renee-France and I discuss how she got into her business and how intuition supports everything she does in her role as Creative Director. We have worked together for roughly 13 years and I have to say I’m not surprised by how she works after she explained her process to me. She makes it so easy to work together because it is like she knows what I want without me being able to describe it. 

Renee-France also speaks to how making career choices can be a difficult process but if we just go where it feels like home, we will always be in the right place. 

Renee-France “I have for a long time felt things so vibrations that bring me into my areas of where I create and how I create so if I meet someone I bring that feeling with me when I go to work. It is difficult to understand in that sense because you know you can be a designer and you can learn to be a designer and you can go to school to do that and some people have incredible talent. But it is another thing to make sure that the business reflects exactly what the message needs to say…. I just let it happen. It’s something that is within me I can’t really explain. You know people have told me that they like my work and I don’t really know why I have that talent or where it comes from but I just let it happen I guess is what I want to say.”

Heather “Has there been a time when you haven’t listened.

Renee-France "Yes and it’s not been good. It has kicked me in the butt when I don’t listen to what I need to listen to. There’s been a few times where I’ve made decisions that in my gut knew was wrong even though people were telling me it was right and it wasn’t.”

Renee-France “So I suddenly decided that I needed a pet and I for some reason went on Kijiji. And Someone had mentioned to me that there was a cat rescue place here in town and I couldn’t find the cat rescue place. I just google it real quick. But I did stumble upon Kijiji. So I thought I will find a cat on Kijiji. And I start googling cats and this little one for whatever reason pops into the search. 

Heather- OH my gosh if that’s not divine.

Renee-France “So I didn’t really think about getting a dog. I knew what dogs were I knew they were a huge responsibility. I’m not the type of person that would have ever thought about getting a dog in my life But I for whatever reason clicked on this ad and as ridiculous as it sounds I fell in love.”
