One of the most underutilized, but valuable tools in a salespersons arsenal is the thank you note.  A well-written, concise and thoughtful thank you note will leave a lasting impression with the prospect or customer.  It will separate you from the competition and help build a moat around the account.  So take a few minutes after a big appointment or new sale to write a note.  It will transform your business.
