Kirilly Dawn is a Barkindji woman, a full spectrum doula, birth advocate and somatic movement instructor that resides in Byron Bay.  She also co-hosts an informative podcast called Pregnancy Birth and Beyond.

In this inspirational episode we learn about Kirilly's role as a doula. We chat about orgasmic birth and how this is possible for a birthing person in any setting, as long as they are in their safe place.

Kirilly shares her insight on being culturally sensitive to an indigenous birthing woman in the birth space as we delve into the colonisation of so-called-Australia and the impacts of this to the first peoples. We ask Kirilly what it means to birth "on country" and how to connect with The Boonwurrung people that reside locally on the Mornington Peninsula.

We also discuss Kirilly's work in Somatic Movement and how we can integrate this to support birth and the post partum period.

Show Notes:

Kirilly currently offers a 5 week "Into the sensuous" embodied movement course that can be found here

We discuss the documentary "Orgasmic Birth" which can be read about here.

The birth centre in Hyderabad, India that Kirilly refers to is 'The Sanctum'
