This lecture discusses key ideas from the ancient Stoic philosopher and Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius' work, Meditations (or To Myself)

It focuses specifically on a passage in book 4 about our capacity to withdraw into the inner space of ourselves, which gets taken along with a passage in book 8 about the inner citadel, to suggest that everyone has a calm, non-busied place within their soul. This is the case for those who have prepared such a space within them by practicing philosophy.
