This lecture discusses key ideas from the ancient Stoic philosopher and Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius' work, Meditations (or To Myself)

It focuses specifically on three passages in book 7 which have a common theme, namely avoiding feeling anger at people who screw up (hamartein) by reminding ourselves of how and why people screw up in the ways that they do. This enables us to feel other things towards them, including pity or compassion, in place of anger.
