This lecture discusses key ideas from the early medieval philosopher and theologian, Augustine of Hippo's work, On Free Choice of the Will.
It focuses specifically his discussion in book 1 about the interaction between Christian faith and human reason in that text. Augustine takes as a starting point the scriptural passage, "Unless you believe, you will not understand", and interprets it in light of a human reason which in some manner cooperates with the divine, which aids it in its quest for truth
