Busy family doctors are working evenings and weekends as they go the extra mile to cope with a rapidly rising number of Covid cases in the community.
The College of General Practitioners revealed on Thursday that many GPs were dealing with a 50 percent increase in workload, with some receiving abuse from patients.
It comes as just over 21,000 Covid community cases were reported yesterday.
The chairman of General Practice New Zealand, Wellington GP Jeff Lowe, spoke to Guyon Espiner.
