In this episode, we introduce a simple drumming technique to relax your brain. This falls into the R (reset your body) category of our RISE system. The tool we share is called the Stopwatch Drumming Technique and is adapted from the work of Jim Donovan. We reference the work of Emiliya Zhivotowskaya and The Good Life Project. We discuss using drumming with students to create community as referenced in the article Hearts that drum together beat together. We discuss brain research from Psychology today- Neuroscience and Music- Insights from drummers' brains and the potential therapeutic effects of rhythm, tapping and drumming.
