Becca Dean is an incredible woman who has influenced and enriched the lives of hundreds of young girls as they start to find their feet in the world!
Initially as a teacher, Becca was distressed to realise that many of her students, especially the girls, lacked confidence and aspirations in life. She wanted to show them what possibilities were out there and how to get to where they might want to be, but being a very busy teacher ..with planning and marking, time was so tight!
Becca had a brilliant little idea that has since grown today into a charity called The Girls Network.
Now, The Girls Network inspire and empower girls from the least advantaged communities by connecting them with a mentor and a network of professional female role models. The charity works with over 700 girls in London, Portsmouth, Brighton, Liverpool . and will be starting up in Manchester in January.
