Looking for ideas to help on your journey to achieving ambitious future goals? Dr Grace Lordan shares behavioural science based insights and practical steps from her best selling book "Think Big" and much more on Episode 6 of the Reframe & Reset Your Career podcast. Hopefully this will inspire you to start taking the steps to your dream future.

In this episode, we will learn about:

Her early education and how she moved from Computer Science to Economics,

Why it’s helpful to think in terms of skills & activities rather than careers,

How you can change your narrative,

Using your time more efficiently,

Taking small steps to achieve your goals,

The impact of emotions on decision making,

Dealing with life blows and being resilient, and

The danger of comparing yourself to others.

Grace is the Founding Director of The Inclusion Initiative (TII), Director of the MSc in Behavioural Science and an Associate Professor in Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science, my former university, but Grace has had a far more impressive career!

Grace has a PhD in Economics, and an undergraduate degree in computer science. Her research is focused on understanding why some individuals succeed in life and others don't. She is an expert on the effects of bias, discrimination and technology changes. Grace is an expert advisor to the UK government sitting on their skills and productivity board. Her academic writings have been published in top international journals in economics and the broader social sciences. "Think Big, Take Small Steps and Build the Future you Want" is her first book. Grace is a regular keynote and panel speaker at corporate events.

I first came across Grace through an excellent discussion on Careers which she was hosting at the LSE and the panel included our good friend Dorie Clark. I found her work interesting and reached out to her and she generously agreed to appear on the podcast.
