#006 RSIRE Buying A House on the 2017 Bubble

There are so many decisions to factor in when buying a house - how much is the downpayment, is it in a good school area, restaurants, walkability, distance to work, pressure from family and friends…how does this play out in reality?

Sometimes we are SO eager to get a house, perhaps our first house, that these factors collide to add additional pressure for likely one of the biggest purchases in our lives, which can lead to doubt, anxiety, fear of losing out, or more.

Kumssa Hassan and his wife found themselves in this very situation - bidding on a house at the peak of its value, due to bidding wars, and ended up overpaying. In fact, they bought in April and moved in June, and the house was worth $50,000 LESS than when they bought it a few months earlier!

What did he learn? Would he do it again? What about those family members and friends telling him to ‘buy now’ or ‘wait!’? Tune in to hear Kumssa share his story of triumph and adversity, and where they went from this first purchase.
