Social media use is harmful to the mental health of teens. Depression, self-harm, suicide attempts, and suicide have all increased significantly over the last 15 years. However, complete abstinence from our devices is not realistic. Like most things in life, we need a healthy balance—digital media is no different.

If you are in a crisis or think you have an emergency, call your doctor or 911. If you're

considering suicide, call 1-800-273-TALK to speak with a skilled trained counselor.
