In this episode, we're joined by Sue Thomas. For most of her life, Sue has had a love of food and fitness!

In her 20’s she started to really understand how food helped her to fuel her body and have boundless energy when competing in triathlons and long-distance bike riding.

In her 30’s her food focus was more on having her children and eating well so that she could have the energy to give them the best start in life. By this stage, Sue was running a busy personal training studio and needed the right fuel to give her best to her clients and to her children!

And then in her 40’s, Sue was struck down by an infection that required prolonged doses of antibiotics.  Fast forward 3 years and she was struggling.  She was no longer walking the talk!  Her digestive system was unhappy, her hormones were out of balance and she was having to sleep in the afternoon to have enough energy for her clients and her family!

And that is when Sue knew she had to take back control. But it had to be simple and easy to implement! Her focus was to heal her intestine, rebalance her hormones, improve her sleep and energy levels and rediscover her love for life! Sue devised an easy to follow and easy to prep eating plan for herself that did not include any sugar, added in some targeted supplementation to speed up the process, got her mind in the right place for success and found herself by her late 40s with the energy she had in her 30s.

And now Sue is in her 50s and the programme she devised for herself she has used to help countless women achieve the same thing as her – to take back control!  Her focus is to help you understand how you can sleep better, have more energy, balance your hormones and help you to live a full and vibrant life no matter what age!

In this episode, we explore:

the impact of eating sugar
hormones – insulin, ghrelin and leptin
balancing blood sugars
making beneficial choices
guilt around food
food flexibility
the importance of sleep
free radicals and antioxidants
inflammation

and loads more.
