In today's episode Dr. Becky Spelman speaks with Kevin Hines, a suicide survivor who jumped off the golden gate bridge in an attempt to end his life.

Kevin experienced a very traumatic childhood and was adopted at 9 months old. Kevin was diagnosed with epilepsy and put onto medication to manage this, however, this medication had unknowingly suppressed Kevins bipolar disorder and when he was taken offer this medication it  lead to his first mental breakdown at the age of 17 years old where he experienced his first paranoia episode.

Kevin explains his entire experience the day he travelled to the golden gate bridge in San Francisco to make his life ending jump. He explains he was hearing voices in his head telling him to 'end his life'. Kevin survived the fall and was saved from drowning by the coast guards. Kevin explains his regret the moment he made that jump from the bridge, but describes his survival as a miracle.
