In this message, we begin the study of I Timothy by considering the man Timothy and his history with Paul. Then we discuss the author and recipient of the letter as Paul sets them forth in the first two verses. Then, Paul discusses his mission on which he had sent Timothy to Ephesus. He was opposing false teachers and false teachings, and we discuss what these were. The false teachers wanted to be teachers of the law, but they didn’t understand the law.
