PA439 Galatians 1:10-2:3 mp3

In this message, Paul argues that the gospel he is proclaiming is not to please men, but to please God; and it is not to persuade God, but to persuade men. He assures them that his gospel did not come from men, nor was he taught it by them, but got it directly from Christ’s revelation. He reminds them of the kind of person he used to be when he was part of the Jews’ religion, and how he persecuted the followers of Christ. He reminds them that when it pleased God to reveal His Son in him, he didn’t go to Jerusalem to learn from those who were apostles before him, but went into Arabia, then back to Damascus. When he did go to Jerusalem, he saw Peter for fifteen days and James the Lord’s brother, but none of the other apostles, and they added nothing to his message. When fourteen years after his conversion he went to Jerusalem again, the apostles added nothing to his message again, and didn’t even make Titus, a Greek who was with him, be circumcised, showing they agreed with his gospel.
