Navratri The power of Goddess of wealth - By Sri Preethaji

Namaste

Last week we went into the first three days of Navaratri & the sacred mystery of the goddess Maha Durga.

Navaratri is the 9 day journey of the seeker into the depths of his or her consciousness guided by the light of the goddess.

The 4th, 5th and the 6th days of Navaratri is a celebration of the mother divine as Maha Lakshmi, killing Mahishaasura and Raktha Bija.

Here the myth becomes very interesting. Mahishaasura the demon goes into assuming various forms in battle. He appears once as a bull, another time as a monster, another time as a cloud, as an elephant during this war with the goddess, until she finally kills him.

Similarly every drop of the blood that spills from the asura or the demon gives rise to yet another asura. Much like the covid virus, until the goddess stretches her tongue throughout the world and swallows him before further forms can emerge from his blood.

To the western mind this might seem bizarre. It might be incomprehensible. However you must know that Hinduism is many tiered. It’s deeper meanings reveal themselves only to the seeker.

So let us go a little deeper now. Having become free of the grip of Madhu and Kaitabha, which are the dark forces of greed and anger with the grace of goddess Durga, the seeker must move in to the fourth, fifth and the sixth nights of his journey.

Krishnaji and I teach that the next milestone on the evolutionary path of the seeker is to go beyond the incessantly desiring mind. Even though you may have crossed anger and greed, longings and desires keep surfacing in different forms tormenting you.

Once it is craving for position, another time it is longing for pleasure, yet another time it is wanting to be loved - like mahishasura constantly changing forms.

And this ever hungry mind is a trickster. If you tried to fight one craving another is born.

If you try to suppress and kill one craving many more are born like Rakta Beeja. Here the seeker invokes the divine mother as Chit Shakthi, as the great witness consciousness.

The seeker at this stage becomes a witness to his or her ever hungry mind. You become a witness.

In this state of being a witness, your craving mind becomes queit. It disintegrates without making you run amock trying to fulfill them.

In the first stage, you saw the seeker becomes free of Tamas with the power of the goddess dressed in black.

In this stage the seeker becomes free of Rajas or the aggressive desire for money, for fame, for pleasure with the grace of Maha Lakshmi dressed in red.

Here is a secret I want to share with you.

Wealth does not flow to those who are aggressively wanting..... wanting..... wanting all the time.

The goddess of wealth only blesses those who are calm and those who are peaceful at heart.
