Beagle Freedom Project: Shannon Keith on Our Lives with Shannon Fisher

Shannon is excited to welcome her guest this week: Shannon Keith, President and Founder of the Beagle Freedom Project (BFP). Keith's organization fights for animal rights on many levels, from fighting for legislation requiring humane treatment of laboratory animals to physically rescuing beagles used in laboratory testing and helping them assimilate into life outside of the lab - and ultimately finding them loving homes.

Beagles are the most popular breed for lab use because of their friendly, docile, trusting, forgiving, people-pleasing personalities. Most beagles used in experiments have never seen grass, the sun, or anything outside the walls of a laboratory. They have received little or no affection & are often afraid of people. Beagle Freedom Project is doing some amazing work in bringing joy & love to these animals.  

Our Lives with Shannon Fisher explores personal, political, and societal perspectives of the American experience. The show delves deeply into the worlds of writers, artists, celebrities, and community leaders and offers listeners food for thought on ways to better themselves and the world around them.
