Diane Fiellin’s father left when she was one year old and her mother was addicted to drugs. Diane learned how to be resourceful at a very young age, raising herself and her three siblings. In this episode, Diane shares how she was able to leave the economic depression and violence of Baltimore, MD behind to live a productive life. Diane shares some challenging moments in her work as a Department of Defense (DoD) contractor providing medical care in locations around the world. While assigned to Sheik Isa Air Base, in Bahrain, Diane was the only civilian medic on a DoD contract to provide basic life support services for various branches of the U.S. Military. Diane’s story will inspire us all.
