You've probably heard that protein is important but do you actually know why it's important?

It's not just for muscle gain.

Basically, everything in our body uses proteins to some degree and if you want to get the best bang for your buck then you need to make sure you're getting enough protein in on a daily basis.

The reason you want to focus on getting protein in on a daily basis is that we can't store protein it is used and if we don't get enough the body will pull it from places like a muscle, to use it for more important things.
