Something that I touched on a few weeks ago on my Instagram and I realised how prevalent it is is females losing their menstrual cycle.
It is NEVER normal for a for a female to stop menstruating so if you’ve lost your menstrual cycle you need to work on restoring it ASAP.
Now usually this happens when people are dieting for long periods of time, are low levels of body fat or they exercise a lot and don't eat so much.
Because of this, the body will basically shut off your menstrual cycle because reproduction is no longer a priority and the body is focusing on keeping you alive.
This is known as Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDS)
What this means is that there’s an energy mismatch between how much you’re eating and how much you’re burning from exercise and the leftover calories you have for your bodily functions.
