New DA Slams ICE

New Suffolk County district attorney Rachael Rollins is slamming Immigration and Customs Enforcement for arresting an undocumented immigrant in a Boston courthouse when he was there for an arraignment on cocaine trafficking charges. Rollins said on Friday “I absolutely find this incredibly troubling, irrespective of what this person was charged with. This is a high priority for me. I’m personally looking into this incident. I will personally be getting the answers.”

Safe Injection Sites

In an effort to curb the national opioid epidemic, Mayor Marty Walsh is in Canada to tour a number of supervised drug injection sites. The Facilities allow people to inject illegal drugs under the supervision of medical professionals. Walsh had been a staunch opponent to the safe injection sites but now said he’s interested in learning firsthand how the sites direct more people into addiction treatment.

According to a Washington Post – ABC News poll published on Sunday that asked “Who do you is mainly responsible for this situation?” 53 percent of people told pollsters they blamed President Trump and congressional Republicans. Only 29 percent of those polled said they blamed Democrats and 13 percent said both sides were equally to blame. Marisa discusses the poll and discusses day 24 of the partial government shutdown.
