"Who I Am in Christ" Hebrews 2 - January 9, 2023 Read Here: https://www.bible.com/en-GB/bible/111/HEB.2.NIV

. Hebrews 2:11-12, Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. He says, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises.” Today, we continue to explore who we are in Jesus Christ. Who I Am in Christ – In Christ, we are sanctified, being made holy, and being set apart for use in the Kingdom of God. Because of his death on the cross, Jesus has prepared the way for us to have everlasting life but he has also prepared the way for us to be made holy. Jesus atones for our sins on the cross, we are cleansed of all unrighteousness, but this was all done for a purpose. We were cleansed in order to be set apart for God’s use. Think about that. If you have said yes to Jesus Christ, you are cleansed of sinfulness. We are free to live the abundant life with God. Friends, we can now walk hand in hand with a holy God – no barrier and no shame. When God looks on us, he no longer sees our sin but rather the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. Amen! Praise God! But, and this but is important, this was done for a purpose – so that we can be used by God for his work in this world. We aren’t to simply sit around and enjoy the wonderfulness of our faith (even though it is wonderful), but we are called to a higher purpose, we are called to something greater. God is calling every single one of us to be used by him.

>>>>>

Furthermore, the one who makes us holy and the one who is holy are of now of the same family. Jesus isn’t ashamed of us. Rather, he delights in us! God delights in you!

>>>>> Let’s pray…Lord Jesus, Thank you for continuing to sanctify me. Help me to look more like you in all I do. I am so grateful to call you friend. More of you and less of me, Jesus. Amen.

Our staff and leadership employ what's called the “S.O.A.P. Method”. It stands for Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. Each day, we read one or two chapters of Scripture and focus on one particular verse. We make some observations about how that verse touches us, discern how it applies to our lives, and offer a prayer related to what we have read. - Rev.
