. 2 Corinthians 2:15-17, For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task? Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.

Who I Am in Christ - The apostle Paul here speaks of how Christ-followers carry around the pleasing aroma of Jesus Christ to the world. Of course, we are not the source of the pleasing aroma; it comes from the message of Jesus. Paul makes a similar statement elsewhere when he says we are ambassadors of Jesus. We represent Jesus to those who don’t yet know him. To some, the aroma won’t be well-received and to others, it will bring life.

I can’t help but think of how life and death both have odors to them. It’s up to each individual person what they choose. Some will choose the stench of death and others will choose the beautiful aroma of life in Jesus. In Christ, we are messengers of the Good News of Jesus. We carry with us something that is precious and valuable that is meant to be shared with all. The only way people can begin to make a choice is to hear the message. And who will tell them? Friends, we are plan A and there is no plan B.

Let’s pray…Lord, Help me remember who and whose I am. May I represent you well in whatever I do and be free to share your message with others. Take away my fears, take away my insecurities, and help me listen solely to you. May I share the sweet aroma of YOU with all those you put in my path. Amen.

Our staff and leadership employ what's called the “S.O.A.P. Method”. It stands for Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. Each day, we read one or two chapters of Scripture and focus on one particular verse. We make some observations about how that verse touches us, discern how it applies to our lives, and offer a prayer related to what we have read. - Rev.
