When we look younger, we feel younger. That’s why many people turn to plastic surgery. However, as with any surgery, there’s the risk of complications. But what if there was a more holistic approach that was less invasive, but still leaves you looking and feeling younger than before?

Dr. Anthony Youn is a board-certified plastic surgeon. You may have seen him on one of his appearances on Dr. 90210, Dr. Oz, Rachel Ray, and Good Morning America. What makes him different is that he takes a holistic approach to help people look younger. Always looking for a better way to do his work, Dr. Youn is reinventing the approach that many plastic surgeons take.

In this chat, Dr. Youn explains how he came to the realization that surgery isn’t necessarily the answer to looking younger. He describes how he developed his holistic approach to plastic surgery. This means taking a specific regime of supplements and living an overall healthy lifestyle while taking advantage of the newest technological breakthroughs in this field that limit the invasiveness of many procedures

Have you had or considered plastic surgery? How would a more holistic approach benefit you? Leave a comment on the episode page and let me know!

In this episode Why plastic surgery should be more than just an operation The role that supplements can play in anti-aging regimes How living an active lifestyle helps in post-surgery recovery Best practices for keeping your skin looking young and healthy The new scientific advances in plastic surgery that are making it a less invasive process than ever before What breast implant illness is and why it’s something important to be aware of
  Quotes

“I thought that there has to be a better way so I went back to the drawing board and I started really doing a lot of research into ways to turn back the clock -- to look and feel younger --  without necessarily going under the knife.” [5:29]

“If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. So if all you do is surgery, then what are you going to recommend? A lot of these doctors just recommend surgery.” [6:38]

“The bare minimum of what you should do for your skin is every morning cleanse your skin and pick a cleanser appropriate for it.” [16:19]

“What we should always be doing is striving for whatever is best for our patients. There’s a question of whether we’re protecting our sacred cow of this operation that makes us money or are really doing what’s best for our patients.” [27:08]
