I have something to tell you….

YOU ARE GOING TO BE OK!

In fact, you ARE OK. Right here. Right now. And your okay-ness is not actually dependent on a lack of pain, even though it feels like it is.

Being a human means that we will experience pain at some point, and the view that pain is somehow WRONG is what is hurting us longer-term.

We have collectively lost our trust in the body’s journey. And when we distrust our own body (due to pain, or discomfort or symptoms), we unconsciously tell our brain that we are NOT OK. And when we don’t feel OK, we feel more fear, which feeds into our mental fear story, which again alerts our brain that we’re not OK, which leads to our brain protecting us even more with protective sensations like pain/chronic symptoms.

It’s a biofeedback loop that can only be interrupted through a deep trust, through a deep acceptance. We break this loop by NOT IGNORING the fear, not ignoring the pain, not ignoring our TRUTH.

So listen on to hear my little reminder that I offer you today, and please open your heart to the possibility that acceptance of self, acceptance of pain, and an acceptance of the FEAR itself is the medicine that can break the wheel of our own suffering.

I ended today’s episode with a beautiful clip from one of my sacred teachers in this life, Joanna Macy:
