What does your inner dialogue sound like throughout your day? Is it kind? Is it compassionate? Is it gentle?

Or does it sound like a bully coach that you had in high school basketball telling you that you’re worthless when you don’t perform well?

Chances are, it’s the latter. And chances are, that this inner meanness is holding you back in your healing. When we are inwardly critical and unkind to ourselves, we are in a constant state of inner danger. Our brain doesn’t know what to do to protect itself from ourselves, and we are, at the same time, bully and victim. We are hurting ourselves because we are hurting. This only perpetuates the hurt cycle.

So on today’s episode, I offer some tips to help you become gentler with yourself, and also I hope to illustrate this idea that how we treat ourselves matters deeply.

You are ALWAYS doing the best you can, even when you feel like you aren’t.. Please listen in to this message, as I believe it to be one of the more important messages we can absorb along our healing journeys..
