So often when we are stuck in the muck of our feelings and or thoughts, we can’t see the gift in the lessons that are there. We want to avoid pain and move toward pleasure because our brains are wired that way.  So, naturally it can be difficult to see the beauty in our pain or difficult situations. When we do our work and we heal we can begin to appreciate those reminders. As the quote by Helen Keller says, “The hilltop hour would not be half as wonderful if there were no dark valleys to traverse.” Just for today can you see a painful situation as a reminder to heal and grow.

“The marvelous richness of human experience would lose something of rewarding joy if there were no limitations to overcome. The hilltop hour would not be half so wonderful if there were no dark valleys to traverse.” ~Helen Keller
