This week's episode features Dr. BG Mancini of The Brain and Gut Institute for Research and Recovery. BG has more than 25-years experience in her field as an Acupuncturist Physician, Functional Medicine Practitioner, and Neurodevelopmental Specialist. Dr. Mancini works with children, adults, families and practitioners to identify the root causes of physical, emotional, and neurological challenges. She has helped thousands of families around the world increase neurological connections in their children’s brain through mobility, nutritional changes, and creating awareness of available techniques to deepen the connection between children and parents. She helps individuals learn safety in their own body and mind so they can more deeply connect with themselves, their families and the world around them.

Her mission is to inform individuals, parents, and practitioners of new ways to “see” what babies are and aren’t doing through the lens of a developmental model, and to help give families the foundation for securing their children's sensory experience in the world.

In this episode, Nicole and BG explore:

The important connection between the brain and gut.  What is the Family Nervous System, and how the mothers nervous system informs and helps develop an infants nervous system through serve and return engagements, and what happens in the child’s brain when they receive and don’t receive this. The stimuli that are needed for children to grow and develop. What happens when parents have unresolved trauma and physical health challenges that are causing them to check out and not able to engage with their children.  How foods impact our nervous system and tips to make small but impactful change for optimal health.  Clinically effective resources for children with neurological and behavioral challenges.
