367 episodes - English - Latest episode: over 1 year ago - ★★★★★ - 30 ratings

Maine Road Ramble is a Manchester City focused podcast originally created by Kevin Nelson and Ger Deegan, who met while writing for SB Nation a few years back. In it's present state, the Maine Road Ramble team is made up of Ger, Andrew Dettmer, Jon Ashley and Joe Ricci.

The podcast structure is quite loose and conversational with the banter ranging across all aspects of the game, including tactics, analytics, match recaps, and much more. Thanks to the size of our team, we also provide a couple of specialized series, such as transfer targets, legal ramifications, etc.

Looking to have the latest and greatest on all things Manchester City? Have a listen and interaction is encouraged so please get in touch! You can find us on Twitter @MaineRoadRamble or via email at [email protected]. Reach out with any questions, thoughts, or suggestions and we'll be sure to mention them on an episode. Thanks for all the support!

25: David Silva Appreciation Special

April 11, 2020 21:32 - 42 minutes

With the looming possibility that Manchester City legend David Silva might have played his final match for the Blues, we thought it a good idea to take a moment to dedicate an entire episode in his honor. For many, including Kevin and Ger, he's the best ever to put on a City shirt and he will be forever missed when his time does end in Manchester.  This episode touches on all aspects of Silva's time at City and includes his best goals, assists, and moments. There is no lens to view his care...

March 25, 2020 17:59 - 46 minutes

Our series focused on identifying the best transfer targets to fit City's need has returned to talk about the left back position! There were a number of players who caught the eye of Kevin and Andrew, so this may end up being part one of a two part left back episode pair. We go in depth on two players in this one, Leicester City's Ben Chilwell and At...

18: We Just Couldn't Wait To Talk About That One

February 28, 2020 02:51 - 25 minutes

The Maine Road Ramble is back earlier than we planned because we simply had to talk about that amazing performance Manchester City put on against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu! Kevin and Andrew get together for a quick reaction episode that ends up being a little more in-depth than intended, but that's what happens when you're feeling the excitement of a match like that. February 25, 2020 01:54 - 44 minutes

The matches are coming thick and fast for Manchester City as we're in the midst of one of the busiest stretches of the year. Kevin and Ger get started by looking back on two consecutive Premier Leagues against West Ham and Leicester City.  Analyzing the West Ham match didn't require much of the guys' time considering how easily the Blues handled the opposition but they do touch on a couple of tactical wrinkles that propelled them to victory. Upon transitioning to our Leicester breakdown, Ke...

February 15, 2020 02:18 - 39 minutes

City got handed some bad news today as UEFA dropped a two season Champions League ban on the Blues to go along with a hefty fine. 14: Still Trying To Figure Out What That Was

January 31, 2020 00:22 - 51 minutes

The Maine Road Ramble is back and Ger and Kevin are back together again after three weeks apart! It was a weird week for the lads to return to as the Blues survived in both the FA and League Cups, though we're not sure how inspired we were by those performances. We start in chronological order with the Fulham match (02:15) but don't spend too much time here since the circumstances of the match prevent us from drawing any real conclusions.  The main event of City's week was the second leg of...

November 28, 2019 06:21 - 1 hour

The Maine Road Ramble is back for another edition, though this one is far less optimistic than we would hope! The lads start with a review of the Chelsea match, which wasn't the most encouraging affair, and immediately follow it up with a far less promising review of the Shakhtar match in the Champions League campaign. All in all, what is normally a optimistic podcast sounds quite far from that after these past two matches, luckily the Newcastle match on the weekend would appear to be the pe...
